Hello Neighbor
Hi! My name is Christine Johnson, and I am running for City Council 2012. I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, graduated with a degree in Biology from James Madison University in 1990 and have lived in Harrisonburg since.
I am the mother of eight children--one at Smithland, one at Spotswood, one at THMS, two at HHS, two attending JMU, and Drew--our Special Needs adult--who “hangs out” at home, but “lives” for the music scene Downtown.
I am a conservative and while I am not a career politician; I do have community experience. I was the President of Harrisonburg Little League for three years and I am currently on the Board of Directors for both the JMU and Harrisonburg Education Foundations.
I enjoy running my own small business, University Outpost Bookstore, serving the faculty, staff, and students of JMU. I look forward to using the leadership and organizational skills that I have learned to help Harrisonburg City grow and brand itself as the great city that it is.
